FERB 2024
Policy Dialogue on Financial and Economic Reforms in Bangladesh
The event, consisting of panel discussions and poster presentations, will bring together leading policymakers, industry professionals, and academics with the goal to explore financial and economic reforms essential for a robust financial system and a better future of Bangladesh. The specific objectives are to identify weaknesses of the current policies/practices in various financial sectors, propose solutions/reforms for improvements, and recommend measures for implementation of the proposed reforms. These may include structural, operational, regulatory, technological, and other pertinent issues. The recommendations are expected to lead to a well-functioning – efficient (allocational, operational, and informational), effective, and transparent – financial system. This, in turn, will foster a vibrant economy that will contribute towards the wellbeing of all stakeholders at different levels: individual, organizational, and national.
We invite academics/practitioners/policymakers to showcase their policy recommendations on the theme through poster presentation on the program day. These may include, but not limited to, the following:
- Banking (and other Financial Institutions) Reforms
- Capital Market Reforms
- Financial Crime and Compliance (AML, CFT, Capital Flight, and others) Reforms
- Financial System and Economic Policy Reforms (including Independence of the Central Bank, the Roles of the Ministry of Finance and NBR, Monetary and Fiscal Policies, Exchange Rate Policy Reforms, Tax Reforms, Budgetary Reforms, Information Asymmetry, Data Integrity, and others)
Call For Policy Recommendations (Poster Presentations)
We also welcome your participation in the interactive panel discussion sessions on the above-mentioned areas, to be also held on the event date.
